Welcome to Far Harbor
Far Harbor is a 18+ RPG that features loose stats, perks (and the ability to gain more) and a profile application. Don't worry if your knowledge of Fallout isn't extensive! Our docs cover the most important points and we'll be happy to answer any questions you might have about the world.

On Far Harbor, we like to focus on the oddness of a post-apocalyptic future where technology is as diverse as having synthetic life and guns made of wood pailings. Ghouls, super mutants, humans and synths all have a place in The Island. If you're looking for a place to explore a world blasted by radiation

. . . welcome home
Feburary 2277
Super mutants have been discovered on The Island after a disasterous expedition to find somewhere for the ghouls to establish an indepedent settlement. Meanwhile, Far Harbor was attacked by anglers, injuring many and placing additional strain upon the town's only physician.

I have installed the new "Pipboy" theme! It introduces the ability to display what items your character commonly carries (change this in the UserCP). If you run into issues, be sure to PM Kit the Human.

We've also switched to profile applications! Pending Users can now edit all of their details. You can find out about the process here.

We've relaxed out content rules! We're now rated, anything goes.

HTML has been enabled for this forum, Wanted ads and the Development Forum. These can be viewed when previewing your post for issues. You do not need to wrap them in dohtml tags for them to work.

<div class="testytest1">Hullo</div>

<style>.testytest1 {display: table-cell; vertical-align: middle; height: 10vh; padding: 10px; color: #fff; text-shadow: 1px 1px 0 #141414; background: #000; border: 3px solid #d3d3d3; text-align: center; font-size: 3rem;}</style>

Spits out:

But you can't put any line breaks in the styles tags. For example, the below won't work.

<div class="pink">Pink</div><div class="green">Green</div>
<style>.pink="color:pink; text-shadow:1px 1px 0 #fff;}
.green="color:green; text-shadow:1px 1px 0 #fff;}

Notice that the Green has no color? But this will work:

<div class="pink2">Pink</div><div class="green2">Green</div>
<style>.pink2="color:pink; text-shadow:1px 1px 0 #fff;}.green2="color:green; text-shadow:1px 1px 0 #fff;}</style>

Some things to keep in mind:
  • A number of our users only use mobiles to access the site. Hovers will often not reveal their contents when the user taps on them (iOS devices are particularly bad in this respect) and fixed widths can cause the content to extend beyond the boundaries of the post area...so the mobile user can not read your content! Always check the code with your mobile phone and assume that hovers do not work.
  • Don't make the font too small. Not sure what too small is? Just use 1rem instead of pixels. 1rem=whatever the user's browser sets it as.
  • Remember contrast! If your contrast is too low, your text becomes illegible.
  • Switch to view source when pasting the code into your post area (the button on the right of the four green arrows.) If you don't, you'll copy all the formatting from another post over to here.
  • Feel free to use the development forum to test your codes and do ask someone to look at your codes to make sure it's ok!
