Welcome to Far Harbor
Far Harbor is a 18+ RPG that features loose stats, perks (and the ability to gain more) and a profile application. Don't worry if your knowledge of Fallout isn't extensive! Our docs cover the most important points and we'll be happy to answer any questions you might have about the world.

On Far Harbor, we like to focus on the oddness of a post-apocalyptic future where technology is as diverse as having synthetic life and guns made of wood pailings. Ghouls, super mutants, humans and synths all have a place in The Island. If you're looking for a place to explore a world blasted by radiation

. . . welcome home
Feburary 2277
Super mutants have been discovered on The Island after a disasterous expedition to find somewhere for the ghouls to establish an indepedent settlement. Meanwhile, Far Harbor was attacked by anglers, injuring many and placing additional strain upon the town's only physician.

I have installed the new "Pipboy" theme! It introduces the ability to display what items your character commonly carries (change this in the UserCP). If you run into issues, be sure to PM Kit the Human.

We've also switched to profile applications! Pending Users can now edit all of their details. You can find out about the process here.

We've relaxed out content rules! We're now rated, anything goes.

HTML has been enabled for the development, wanted ads and plotters forums. Instructions are here. In other news....super mutants have been discovered on the Island. It is the first time they have been spotted. Super mutants are now a playable race!

Before the War, anglers were deep sea fish. After the nuclear holocaust they mutated and grew limbs. Anglers now travel around shallow waters, using their bioluminescence to attract prey to them. The bioluminescent "bulb" hangs from a cranial appendage that strongly resembles a lure weed. In addition to their claws and teeth, Anglers are able to throw a fireball at attackers by breathing in the radioactive Fog that blankets the Island.

Brahmin are the ornery result of cows becoming irradiated. They can pull carts, cars, plows and provide milk. Dead, they are a source of leather, meat, bones and fat used in soap. The brahmin do not require much to survive. They are able to go without water for several days and able to eat much of the weeds found in the Wastelands.

Mirelurks mutated from horseshoe and blue crabs before the War in the North Atlantic. They have a symbiotic relationship with mirelurk kings, which are mutated snapping turtles.

Mirelurks live in shallow water, half buried in sand as they wait for unwary prey to enter their vicinity. They are exceptionally fast, able to rush an opponent and either head-butt them or slice them with their claws. Their bellies are soft with bullets able to penetrate them easily. An exceptionally tough shell covers their back and head, they are difficult to crack. Mirelurks are hatched from clusters of eggs that are typically found along the water's edge. Viable eggs can spontaneously hatch when disturbed and will immediately attack a non-mirelurk.

There are several types of mirelurks. The standard mirelurk has a light blue shell with tougher mirelurks, called mirelurk hunters, are reddish brown.

Mirelurk kings do not have a tough outer shell but possess a sonic based attack, whilst Mirelurk Queens are simply oversized mirelurks.

Molerats are furless and live in extensive burrows underground. From these burrows, molerats can ambush their prey by bursting out from underground in large packs.

Fog Crawler

Fog crawlers are caused by the radioactive fog mutating the shrimps in the area. Fog Crawlers reside in the Deep Fog and rarely venture outside it. They are the apex predator on the Island.

Hermit Crab

Hermit crabs look just like hermit crabs from before the War. Except they are huge.

Hermit crabs now make permanent homes out of the kind of large vehicles that can be found around the Island. Including trucks. This helps them camouflage them so that they can ambush unsuspecting prey. Due to their size, they are slow after the initial surprise attack. Most will simply run from them, rather than risk being crushed by their massive claws or devoured by their hatchlings.

Gulpers are mutated salamanders that like anglers, can suck in the Fog and spit it out again in the form of a fireball.

Radroaches are large irradiated cockroaches that are prolific throughout the post-apocalyptic world.

Radscorpions are huge irradiated scorpions. They are predatory, hunting by burrowing underground and bursting up to attack their unsuspecting prey. Radscorpions possess a poisonous sting and pincers strong enough to crush large prey. Like humans.

Radstags (radiant stags) are irradiated deer. They possess two heads and an extra pair of useless legs that protrude from the join in their necks. They are herbivores and wander in small herds. Radstags are generally peaceful but when threatened, will charge down their threat.
