Super mutants have been discovered on The Island after a disasterous expedition to find somewhere for the ghouls to establish an indepedent settlement. Meanwhile, Far Harbor was attacked by anglers, injuring many and placing additional strain upon the town's only physician.

HTML has been enabled for the development, wanted ads and plotters forums. Instructions are here. In other news....super mutants have been discovered on the Island. It is the first time they have been spotted. Super mutants are now a playable race!


Sometimes, you will get sick. Other times, you will simply will want to party and enjoy life in a the dystopic future. In Fallout, the term Chem refers to any chemical or drug whether or not they be medicinal. Most chems, including Stimpaks, are quite rare. Consider: these items were last manufactured on a mass scale 200 years ago. It is arguable that they are being manufactured now but the resources required to do so would not be available on Far Harbor. Thus Far Harbor would rely on outside to trade to bring new stimpaks in and since neither the Railroad or the Institute are aware of Acadia's existence, it's probable that there are few traders from the Commonwealth.

Please note that we do not follow the feeling of Fallout 4's crafting feeling where everything is readily available and relatively easy to create. Stimpaks, Radaway, Rad-X and other pre-War drugs would be difficult (though not impossible), to create in this post-apocalyptic setting.


Stimpaks are syringes full of both healing agents and stimulants designed to boost your body's regenerative properties. Stimpaks were developed before the War. Minor injuries can be healed almost instantaneously after intravenously or intramuscularly injecting the contents. Basic and more common stimpaks will not heal major trauma. On the occasion that the patient has suffered significant trauma, a super stimpak (if available) can be used.

A super stimpak uses a more potent mix of healing chemicals that nevertheless leave minor trauma on the skin tissue. A super stimpak is delivered by a syringe and tributary ampule that are attached to a leather strap. The leather strap is then affixed to the patient, over the injection area. An analogue gauge is used to display information on top of the ampule. Due to their technical natures, super stimpaks are extremely rare.

Radaway and Rad-X

Another pre-War medical science, RadAway is a solution that was designed to bond with radioactive particles and remove them from the user's system through urine. This effectively purges the body of radiation but does have some extreme side effects. Side effects include:
  • nausea
  • diarrhea
  • stomach pain and
  • headaches
The side effects are long lasting, effectively putting a person out of action for several days and are administered over a period of several hours. Due to both this and Radaway's pre-War technical nature, Radaway should only be used in extreme circumstances.

RadAway is administered intravenously.


Rad-X is a pre-War chem that is taken to combat future radiation sickness and contamination.


Jet is manufactured as a highly addictive meta-amphetamine. It is an addiction that can not be overcome without the aid of the jet antidote.

Jet stimulates the central nervous system, which triggers a rush of energy and strength that is primary brought about by endorphins. For a short time, jet grants the user a euphoric rush and alters the user's perception of reality. With use, the user comes to believe that using jet is the normal and that the the sober state is abnormal.

Jet is created from brahmin dung. The fumes created by burning brahmin dung creates meta-amphetamine fumes, enough to get high off of. The stench of jet is covered by both the euphoric high and it's packaging. Jet is typically packaged into inhalers. The user can inhale the fumes for the full effect.

Jet antidote is the only counter to jet. It uses endorphin blockers that repress euphoria but results in a violent experience like that experienced by radscorpion poisoning. Endorphin blockers also prevent the drug from taking hold again with users becoming sick if they attempt to inhale jet. This is because without the euphoria, users are essentially inhaling vaporised brahmin shit.


Psycho is nicknamed angry juice and the big red one.

Psycho is a military grade and psychosis inducing amphetamine made from a mix of chemicals of military origin. It is injected into the user and is used to dampen the user's higher brain functions. This effectively gives them a greater pain tolerance. However, the suppression of brain functions also makes the user hard to control. Some variants of psycho also speeds up reflexes but these versions do not also increase pain tolerance.

Long term use of psycho has various side effects. Users with weak hearts are more prone to heart attacks. All users run the risk of

  • dementia
  • psychosis
  • high levels of aggression and
  • general agitation.


Med-X is a potent opiate analgesic that reduces the physical and emotional responses to pain. To do this, the Med-X's opiate analgesic binds to the opioid receptors in the brain and central nervous system. The active ingredient in Med-X is anesthetic which dulls pain and causes listlessness and lethargy.

Med-X is delivered by a hypodermic needle. In addition to lethargy and listlessness, Med-X also causes involuntary twitching and contracted pupils.


Buffout is a highly addictive pill and an advanced steroid. Users experience a short boost to their strength and sense of wellbeing.


Mentats are a chalky red pill that was popular as a pre-War party drug for it's ability to increase creativity as well as for it's variety of different flavours. The active ingredient in Mentats is a nootropic that increases memory related functions and speeds up other mental processes.

Once the effect has worn off, users are tired and sluggish with excessive use leading to issues such as migraines and neurological disorders. Like all the other chems, Mentats are highly addictive.
